Here is a project I have been working on iKatastr2 (SpatialReader) with myVR technology showing terrain model with overlays of OGC WMS services. All from freely available data. Presented at HxGN live 2013
I am excited that project I have been working on at Intergraph called ” iKatastr2″ has placed on 6th position in category “Mobile service” in national competition called “Kříšťálová lupa 2012” (Czech Internet Prize)
First 3 places has been occupied by popular news applications or national TV app ( hundreds of thousands users).
4th place positioned AVG antivirus application for Android. (tens of millions users)
5th place took Czech public transit application. (hundreds of thousands users)
iKatastr2 was the only map/geospatial-related application nominated
few reasons for success are :
good content provided through OGC standards by national mapping agency (CUZK)
great user experience for getting job done
application quality and stability
focus on local (national) services rather than global
Awarding ceremony was great fun ! it was in the spirit of end of the world in 2012 so stage was styled as cemetery and winners received among other gravestones . Each winner had a chance to say something and then they passed into the black tunnel to ‘the other side’ as the end of the world is planned in 3 weeks.
It’s been long time since my last post…I am completely busy and lot of changes have happened during the 2007 year. The most important is that I have handover my ‘start-up’ Intergraph division in Brno (called UtiCom Solution Center) and started to work as Technical Architect for SG&I division of Intergraph with Technology, Architecture and Strategy team. Moreover another important information drives me to update my blog – my presentation at Intergraph 2008. I will present in Las Vegas in June SG&I roadmap towards Service Oriented Architecture ! Looking forward to see you there.
Atttended GeoSpatial World 2005 in SanFrancisco. I was mainly interested in section Geospatial Resource Management so I attended relevant sessions. One of the most wonderful thing there was on-site tour to Sacramento Municipal Utilities where InService in action was presented. I had oportunity to see stages for Mobile Crew, Dispatcher, Call center..etc… Another nice issue was G/Tech 9.3 presentation and InService 7.9.
